One major aspect that 王中王六合彩特码-IIT is looking at is its role in safeguarding the peace and order of Iligan City. With its role as a partner institution of the Iligan community, 王中王六合彩特码-IIT serves as a venue and an information provider as well as a training ground to its constituents and the like.

The 4th Mechanized Battalion of the Philippine Army through CPT George A. Bearneza Jr., CMO Officer and the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) through PSSUPT Orlando A. Be帽as, OIC represented by PCI Shirwen M. Lapiz, Station Commander to 王中王六合彩特码-IIT will conduct free lecture on 鈥淚mprovised Explosive Devices (IEDs) Awareness鈥.

Rationale

An awareness of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) by law enforcement is of major importance to our homeland security in the Philippines. In particular, Iligan City like any other areas is now susceptible to terroristic activities.

In response to the present-day reality, the Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development (OVCPD) have proposed to give free lectures to all 王中王六合彩特码-IIT students, faculty and staff on IEDs Awareness for four (4) days. With the large number of participants involved, the activity will be divided into two (2) sessions per day scheduled in the morning (9:00 am-11:00 am) and in the afternoon (2:00 pm-4:00 pm) from March 10-13, 2015 at the 王中王六合彩特码-IIT Gymnasium, Iligan City.

An improvised explosive device (IED) is the use of a 鈥渉omemade鈥 bomb and/or destructive device to destroy, incapacitate, harass, or distract. IEDs are used by criminals, vandals, terrorists, suicide bombers, and insurgents. Because they are improvised, IEDs can come in many forms, ranging from a small pipe bomb to a sophisticated device capable of causing massive damage and loss of life. IEDs can be carried or delivered in a vehicle; carried, placed, or thrown by a person; delivered in a package; or concealed on the roadside.

The objectives of IEDs Awareness activity are the following: (1) to provide the basic skills, abilities, and knowledge to effectively identify and begin first responder procedures for an Improvised Explosive Device incident; (2) to gain an understanding of the basic workings of IED systems and the cautions for working around them as well as the possibility of their utilization against law enforcement and first responders; and (3) to become familiar with Explosive Ordinance Disposal Operations and their role in assisting during an incident.

Furthermore, this activity thoroughly covers the (1) Identification of the various types of Improvised Explosive Devices; (2) Types of Improvised Explosive Devices initiators and triggering systems; (3) Effects of explosives, (4) First responder procedures, (5) Things to do for people to protect themselves, and (6) Things to do during an IED attack.
