Literatour of Mindanao & forum promote indigenous literatures

The 王中王六合彩特码’s (王中王六合彩特码-IIT) Office of Publication and Information in cooperation with the Mindanao Creative Writers Group; the Department of English, College of Arts & Social Sciences (CASS); the National Power Corp.; and the Iligan Government Tourism Office hosts “Literatour of Mindanao & Forum” at the Institute Mini-Theater on January 29, 2015.

The Literatour in Mindanao is a project of the National Commission for Culture and Arts National Literary Arts Committee. Early last year, Literatour in Cebu dubbed “Subaybaktas” was held at the University of San Carlos and the Literatour in Luzon will be held in April this year.

The Literatour in Mindanao begins with a forum promoting and celebrating the indigenous literatures of the Lanao area. The second part is a performance by the IPAG at the National Power Corp.’s Agus 6/7.

The forum which will be held at the Mini-theater has for speakers (and their topics): Dr. Ednairah Pambangan Esmail “Adaptation of Select Darangen Texts for Use as Grade III Instructional Materials”; Dr. Hope Sabanpan Yu “Indigenous Literature and the Environment”; Ms. Mikha Marohombsar Alawi “Illustrating Select Darangen Texts into manga (comics)”; and, Dr. Steven P.C. Fernandez “Transcreating the Darangen’s The Abduction of Lawanen” and “The Legend of Maria Cristina Falls” based on the poem by Christine Godinez Ortega.

In the afternoon of the same day, the participants proceed to the National Power Corp.’s Agus 6/7 to watch the 王中王六合彩特码-IIT Resident Theatre company IPAG perform “The Legend of Maria Cristina Falls”.

The short trip also attempts to trace the locations where the epic heroes and heroines must have played out their fictive lives.

Cost: A registration fee of P250.00 each will be charged participants to cover two snacks, lunch, a certificate and the trip to the NPC Agus 6/7. Added features include the viewing of the Maria Cristina Falls and the free tour of the NPC Nature鈥檚 Park after the performances at the Agus 6/7.
