Materials/Development Engineer
(Southern Tagalog - FPIP Sto. Tomas, Batangas)

• Develops new or modifies existing product designs to meet customer’s requirements, enhance productivity and increase profitability by improving and upgrading its reliability and adaptability to existing processes, machine and materials.
• Establishes standards, specification, processes (facilities and equipment) and methods for new designs, product and service lines. Monitors/provide technical guidance during initial application and assists in the upgrading/modification of the same to adapt to actual operational condition and requirements.
• Provides technical guidance in sourcing materials for new designs or alternative materials for existing assembly and ensures that all materials that all materials are subjected to pre-qualification dimensional and functional tests to determine if such meets the company’s and/or customers’ standard and specifications.
• Oversees and monitors test runs conducted to determine new designs reliability and adaptability to standard processes. Evaluates and records results of the same and performs corrective measures to eliminate problem areas.
• Coordinates closely with Research & Development and Process Engineering regarding product, process and material changes to be taken and seeks approval and qualification prior to implementation.
• Defines and makes the corresponding request to purchase logistics and equipments for newly approved designs.
• Provides concerned departments technical advice and guidance during production of new projects. Monitors closely performance of such during production runs, makes the necessary adjustments/refinements to achieve set specifications and requirement with due consideration on cost, quality, reliability and availability.
• Defines, updates and issues procurement specifications, qualification procedures and storage/handling requirements and procedures.
• Generates/consolidates reports on evaluation and studies conducted/undertaken and ensures comprehensive documentation of such to provide adequate data support on recommendations submitted for approval of concerned parties.
• Oversees and monitors actual production, seeks ways and means to improve the process documents status and progress of such for purposes of establishing a comprehensive compilation of information needed for future use and reference.

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in either Mechanical or Material Science Engineering; MBA and/or PhD is an advantage;
• At least five (5) years direct experience in Process, Product and/or Development Engineering;
• Knowledge on the fundamentals of production process and product engineering discipline, supervisory management, basic statistics, PLC and CNC Lathe machines;
• Strong analytical and statistical problem solving skills, relating to area of responsibility;
• Possesses knowledge of ISO and Six Sigma standards.
• Willing to be relocated in Luzon particularly in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
