Our company is currently looking for native speakers of Tausug to create language samples used in a test of Tausug reading and listening proficiency. Native Tausug proficiency and very good spoken and written English skills required. This is a contractor position with flexible work hours. The project will last for 6-8 weeks, starting immediately, and will require an availability of 6-12 hours per week. All work can be done online, paid training is provided. Position: Target Language Expert, Tausug: Online

Required Qualification

• Native proficiency of Tausug
• Very good spoken and written English language skills
• College degree or high school + current university studies
• Knowledge of Tausug culture
• Ability to navigate the web, and good basic computer skills
• Computer with broadband Internet connection

Preferred Qualification

• Some academic and/or professional background in linguistics, language teaching, translation, or a related field
• Voice-acting talent/experience (e.g. theater, film, radio, public speaking, etc.)
• Very good Tausug writing skills

Responsibilities

• Create spoken and written passages in Tausug according to detailed specifications
• Provide accurate English translations of the passages
• Provide linguistic and cultural information about the passages

Compensation

Payment is per accepted passage. USD 40 – USD 160 per passage, depending on passage difficulty level and domain (reading/listening).
