Tate Publishing was formed after founders Richard & Rita Tate published their first book with a traditional, mainline royalty publishing company. They soon found that after investing many years of their lives into their work, it was no longer theirs. The rights were now the publisher's, and the majority of the royalties were going to the publisher. That's when Tate set out to redefine what a mainline royalty publisher should be. Remember, the most important step to get started is to submit your manuscript. In 2010, we accepted only a single-digit percentage of authors who submitted manuscripts for publication.

As part of our expanding business projects and undertakings, we are currently looking for highly competent individuals to fill in our vacant position as:

IT SPECIALIST 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• IT Specialists are the front line of support for our company’s end users. Whether it’s a simple request for changing a password, or more in depth issues such as loss of network connectivity, our IT Specialists are responsible for getting the job done.
• IT Specialists are responsible for a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, the following:
• Respond to employee support requests from the ticketing system
• Maintain computers, laptops, printers, servers, and other network devices
• Deploy and replace computers peripherals (including imaging) as needed
• Ensure employee compliance with IT Policies (such as the Acceptable Use Policy) as assigned
• Maintain an accurate inventory of IT Equipment, supplies, and replacement parts
• Run network cabling from switching closets to endpoints as needed
• Assist Application Developers with tasks relating to the company intranet, company websites, etc. as needed and/or as workload allows
• Other duties as assigned by the Associate IT Director for your region, or the IT Director

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of a Computer Science, MSIS, Information Technology, or other related program from an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university.
• 2 years minimum work experience, with at least 1 year of IT work experience or internships
• This requirement may be waived for any candidate who has graduated within the last 12 months, or will graduate within the next 6 months.
• Recent Graduates Encouraged To Apply.
• Strong time management and communication skills are required

 PREFERRED SKILLS

• Industry Certifications are not required, but are a plus
• Basic working knowledge of PHP (including CodeIgniter), MySQL, Java, JavaScript, GIT, and HTML/CSS
• Past experience with the following is a plus:
• Windows Administration (7, 8, 8.1, Server 2012) including Active Directory
• Linux and Mac Administration
• Enterprise Networking (including VPN and WDS)
