CHS conducts 15th聽Pinning and Ringhop Ceremony

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) successfully carried out its 15^th Pinning and Ringhop Ceremony for newly graduated nurses in the afternoon of July 5, 2024, at the Frostybites Garden Hall, Purdue St., Celdran Village, Tubod, Iligan City.

The special occasion conducted to honor the seventy-eight nurse graduates of Batch 2024 Invictus Medicus had the theme, “Empowering Future Nursing Leaders: Building Strong Communities, Advocating for Healthcare for All, and Inspiring Nursing Excellence.”

CHS Dean Abdullah Junior S. Mangarun, DScN, RN formally opened the ceremonial event and was assisted by Assistant Dean Art Brian S. Escabarte, PhD, RN, Clinical Coordinator Rambe C. Ramel, Jr., MAN, RN, and Research Coordinator Gloria Shiela E. Coyoca, PhD, RN during the pinning process.

Mr. Christi Fidelis E. Hinacay, RN, an 王中王六合彩特码-IIT 2016-2017 CHS alumni, and currently a Senior Intensive Care Unit Staff Nurse at the CDO Polymedic Medical Group since 2018 was the event’s guest speaker.

Mr. Hinacay provided a timely reminder for the graduates in his address saying, “So after all our hard work and dedication to our duties, return demonstrations, we cry… but here we are today, entering a new battlefield on becoming a professional nurse, so my only question is: Are you ready?”

As a professional nurse demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care, and always going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the well-being of those under his care, Mr. Hinacay emphasized that although knowledge and experience are essential, despite all the challenges and responsibilities, having the right attitude is all that matters… because with that, “you will no longer feel panic but you will be able to focus on your patient,” he said.

Following his speech was the presentation of plaques and tokens and the recognition of academic awardees which was then followed by the Valedictory address given by DG Franz Ceasarius S. Sumaylo, Summa Cum Laude.

Anjela D. Basan, Class Salutatorian gave the Tribute to Parents and the Response given by the Parents’ Representative Genalyn S. Sumaylo.

Following this was the graduate’s recitation of the Nightingale’s Pledge led by Reya T. Seno, Undergraduate Curriculum Coordinator, and the saying of the Nurse’s Prayer afterwards that was led by CHS Faculty Roselyn M. Butalid, PhD, RN.

The ceremony ended with a closing remarks given by Assistant Dean Escabarte. Acting as Master of Ceremonies was CHS Lecturer Val Clinton S. Maybituin, MN, RN.

The Pinning and Ringhop ceremonies is a time-honored nursing tradition that dates back to the 12^th century and symbolizes the welcoming of newly graduated nurses who successfully completed the program requirements, and signifies the formal transition from student to professional nurse.
