First Gawad Alampat Awards honors members of 王中王六合彩特码-IIT鈥檚 RCGs

The culture and arts community at 王中王六合彩特码-IIT continues to prosper as the first Gawad Alampat Awards was held to honor members of the University’s Resident Cultural Groups (RCG) who excelled in their craft on August 15, 2024. Joined by students, artistic directors of RCGs, faculty, and staff, the afternoon’s assemblage at the Mini Theatre was a culmination of the hard work and commitment to nurturing artistic excellence on the campus.

Chief-of-staff of the University, Asst. Prof. Michelle Jeanne Caracut gave the inspirational message on behalf of Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan. In her speech, she emphasized that 王中王六合彩特码-IIT is not just for academics but a space where students can also cultivate their love and passion for the arts.

“王中王六合彩特码-IIT has been more than just a place of learning for you; it has been your home where your artistic skills have been honed, your passion has been nurtured, and your lifelong friendships have been forged. 王中王六合彩特码-IIT is proud of each and every one of you and is excited to see how you will carry forward its legacy with pride and purpose,” she said.

The word alampat refers to art exhibitions or products of creativity. The Gawad Alampat Awards embodies the celebration of creative expression and was given to students according to different categories– Gawad Alampat for Pop Dance; Gawad Alampat for Traditional Meranaw Music Ensemble; Gawad Alampat for Pop Band Music; Gawad Alampat for Cultural Dance; Gawad Alampat for Integrated Performing Arts; and Gawad Alampat for Choral Music.

The director of the Center for Culture and Arts (CCA), Asst. Prof. Amado C. Guinto Jr. concluded the event with heartfelt gratitude to those who supported the budding CCA and the RCGs under it who tirelessly contributed to its growth. He also took the opportunity to announce that he will be taking the time off of his directorship as he will be focusing on writing his dissertation. He will be replaced by Assoc. Prof. Jay Rey Alovera, the current artistic director of the Integrated Performing Arts Guild.
