CCS hosts Stakeholder's Forum focused on Industry-Academia Collaboration

The College of Computer Studies (CCS) achieved a resounding success with its recent Stakeholder's Forum, held on August 7, 2023. The event, conducted both face-to-face and online, was held simultaneously at the CCS Faculty Lounge and Google Meet. It attracted a diverse array of participants including esteemed representatives from academia, faculty members, students, alumni, technology companies, government officials, and community leaders totaling 100.

The primary goal of the Stakeholder's Forum was to foster meaningful dialogues among key stakeholders hailing from various sectors and industries. This collaborative effort sought to generate insightful discussions, facilitate knowledge exchange, and pave the way for potential collaborations that could drive research, extension activities, instructional enhancements, and partnerships.

Prominent figures and organizations including Philip Lim, Analog Devices, Inc., Leonhel Fortin, DEVCON ILIGAN, Abigail G. Jimlani from the Center for Digital Iligan Innovation and Sustainability, Paulo T. Subrabas of the National Power Corporation MinGen, Al-Raffy S. Sarip from the ICT Council, Jacob Jose  P. Fuentes III and Charisse Nadine A. Laroda from Fligno Software Philippines, Inc., Emmanuel M. Lagare of Salusciens Incorporated, Marie Victoria Rose G. Cagigas and Carl Bryan D. Pontillas from Syntactics, Inc., as well as Acmilah M. Macabuat from the Department of Information and Communications Technology, contributed diverse perspectives and expertise to the event.

The event was structured into two distinct sessions.

The morning session featured presentations by the CCS program departments, which included the Department of Computer Applications, Department of Computer Science, and Department of Information Technology. The afternoon session showcased presentations from various stakeholders, including alumni, government agencies, and extension activity partners.

 The forum featured lively panel discussions between department chairs, students, and stakeholders. Both academia and industry panelists shared insights on connecting education and industry, covering internships, curriculum alignment, and research-industry synergy.

 An exciting highlight was the "Innovation Showcase," where students wowed the audience with cutting-edge projects, showcasing the talent and the bright future of CCS.

 With collaboration achieved, the forum's success opens doors for curriculum inputs, research, partnerships, and innovation in the ever-evolving realm of computer studies, empowering a promising future for the field.
