Accountancy students runner-up in CIMA Global Business Challenge

A team of senior accountancy students of the Institute’s College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) grab the 2nd Runner-Up spot in the June 19, 2015 local finals of the annual Global Business Challenge of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) held at Century Park Hotel in Manila.

The Apex Minds team of ÍõÖÐÍõÁùºÏ²ÊÌØÂë-IIT, along with another team from the Institute – Interra Consulting, competed against four other finalists from De La Salle University - Manila, De La Salle University - Dasmarinas, University of the Philippines-Visayas and Far Eastern University.

The CIMA Global Business Challenge is an international business competition for undergraduate students from around the world.

The competition aims to gather collective opinions from management accounting students on solving relevant issues in the corporate world. With a given hypothetical company situation, the teams are asked to come up with a solution that will best protect the interests of the business entity.

The global finals will be held in Warsaw, Poland with team Team White of the De La Salle University-Manila representing the country after it won at the Century Park Hotel.

The Apex Minds is composed of the following CBAA students - Nicole Jan Chu, Haroun Cabugatan, Harris Kenn Torres, and Sarah Joy Galabi.

CBAA students Adam Roy Opada, Rosamie Sampiano Nasser Madcasim Jr., and Maricar Minerales make up Interra Consulting.

Both teams are under the supervision of Prof. Divina Corazon Gallardo and Prof. Daisy Anacleto.
